Record snowfall possible in Olympia
The snow that moved across Washington on Wednesday seems to be heaviest in the southwest corner of the state.

The snow that moved across Washington on Wednesday seems to be heaviest in the southwest corner of the state.
About a foot of new snow was on the ground by 7:30 a.m. in Olympia.
The meteorologist in charge of the National Weather Service office in Seattle, Brad Colman, said Olympia could break the record of 14 inches of snow in a 24-hour period. Areas south of Olympia could get 20 inches. Colman said, "They're getting hammered."
Some other amounts: 15 inches at Napavine, 7 at Tacoma, 2 at Sea-Tac Airport, 1 at Everett.
At the Spokane Weather Service office, meteorologist Colby Neuman said the Palouse would get 6 to 10 inches, the most since 1998. He expected 2 to 4 inches Wednesday in Spokane. Most of the Eastern Washington snow will be south of Interstate 90, with lesser amounts north of I-90.
