BREMERTON, Wash. —

Washington state ferries have run on time 97 percent of the time this year.

Ferries Director David Moseley told Bremerton Rotarians Monday the on-time performance is one of the system's achievements. The state defines "on time" as within 10 minutes of the schedule.

The Kitsap Sun reports (http://bit.ly/tl0Cpu) Moseley also says the ferry system is considering switching ferries from diesel to liquefied natural gas to save money on fuel.
