SEATTLE —

A woman was hurt after the elevator she was in dropped four stories Wednesday morning, Seattle firefighters said.

The 29-year-old woman was in the 5th and Yesler Building, 300 Fifth Avenue, a 17-story office tower that houses many federal agencies.

Firefighters were dispatched at 7:20 a.m. and treated the woman, who complained of leg and back pain, spokesman Kyle Moore said. He described the injuries as minor.

The woman chose to be taken to hospital by private vehicle, Moore said.
