Seattle police arrested a man after a woman said he groped her near Green Lake Friday evening.

The woman said the man passed by her, then ran up behind her and groped her while she was crossing the street in the 7200 block of East Green Lake Drive North around 7:46 p.m.

When she screamed, the man ran off.

Police officers searched the area and found a man on a running track who matched the victim's description of her assailant. They arrested him when the woman positively identified him.

Detectives from the sexual-assault unit will investigate. Police don't know if the suspect was involved in other reported incidents, Detective Jeff Kappel reported.

Police have been looking for a man they say attacked nearly two dozen women in Beacon Hill and Rainier Valley, including a recent incident in which a man assaulted a woman walking a toddler on Renton Avenue South and then knocked down a witness who tried to take a photo of his car.
