No mail delivery today on King holiday

Monday is a legal holiday observing the birthday of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Many businesses and public services will be closed or operate on a holiday schedule in observance of the holiday. Here's the guide to what's open, closed or operating on different schedules on Monday.

Monday is a legal holiday observing the birthday of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Many businesses and public services will be closed or operate on a holiday schedule in observance of the holiday. Here's the guide to what's open, closed or operating on different schedules on Monday:

Most banks and credit unions: Closed.

Most government offices: Closed. Exceptions include health and safety workers, such as state troopers, prison guards and child-protection workers.

Post offices: Closed; no mail delivery.

King County Metro Transit buses: On a reduced weekday schedule, which means some commuter and school-oriented routes won't operate and some individual trips will be canceled. To check the schedule, go to http://seati.ms/ej9osn (case sensitive).

Community Transit: Local and Swift buses will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

Sound Transit: All trains and buses will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

King County Water Taxi: No service on Vashon Island or West Seattle routes.

State ferries: On regular weekday schedules.

Garbage collection: On a normal schedule for Seattle Public Utilities, Allied Waste and Waste Management.

Department of Licensing offices: Closed.

All state-run liquor stores: open at either 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
