KENNEWICK, — Police say a Kennewick man suffered serious burns Wednesday when he lit a cigarette after fueling his truck at a gas station.

They say Jeff Glenn had just pulled away from the station and lit up when gas residue on his clothes caught fire.

Police say the man jumped out of the truck, causing it to veer off the road and hit a flagpole.

KNDU-TV says no one else was injured.

The man was taken to a hospital.
