No pat-down protest delays at Sea-Tac

Air travelers are moving normally through security checkpoints at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport despite protests of Transportation Security Administration pat-downs.

SEATAC, Wash. —

Air travelers are moving normally through security checkpoints at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport despite protests of Transportation Security Administration pat-downs.

About a half dozen people passed out leaflets against the TSA screenings, but didn't interfere with the pre-holiday travelers. Airport spokesman Perry Cooper says special areas were laid out for the protesters near the checkpoints but out of the way of traffic. He says there have been no reports of trouble by people being screened.

A loosely organized effort dubbed National Opt-Out Day called for a nationwide protest to highlight what some call unnecessarily intrusive screenings.
