If the weather felt sticky Monday, there's good reason.

Cliff Mass, a professor of atmospheric sciences at the University of Washington, wrote on his weather blog that it was the most humid day of the year so far.

The humidity reached 100 percent at Sea-Tac Airport at about 3 a.m. Monday morning. At 100 percent, the air is holding all the moisture it can, creating a possibility for rain, according to officials with the National Weather Service.

Doug McDonnal, a Meteorologist in the Seattle forecast office, called the humidity "quite rare" and said there's a humid air mass hanging over the area that will likely stick around through Tuesday.

The warm weather will probably keep up throughout the rest of the week, McDonnal said, with sun expected on Wednesday and Thursday.
