Police to send acid attack hoax to prosecutors
Police in Washington state say their investigation of the woman who burned her face with acid and then reported she'd been attacked is nearly finished - but they still can't explain her motive.

Police in Washington state say their investigation of the woman who burned her face with acid and then reported she'd been attacked is nearly finished - but they still can't explain her motive.
A Vancouver police spokeswoman said Friday that Bethany Storro has offered no explanation for her self-inflicted injuries and lie, and investigators haven't developed one, beyond saying she was emotionally fragile.
On Aug. 30, Storro told police a woman approached her outside a coffee shop and tossed acid in her face. Storro later confessed under questioning that the burns were self-inflicted.
Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp says police will soon turn the case over to prosecutors.
Police say she could be charged with filing a false report.
