VANCOUVER, Wash. —

A maintenance worker was killed by a school bus when it rolled over him at a bus barn in Battle Ground.

The Washington State Patrol says it happened Wednesday night at the parking lot for Petermann Northwest, the contractor for Battle Ground Public Schools.

The 51-year-old Vancouver man, Almaz Kucukovic, was working on the bus when it started to roll. He was trying to climb aboard when he fell under the wheels.

The Columbian reports he died immediately from head and internal injuries.
