Ridership up on Link light rail

An average 24,145 people per weekday rode on Sound Transit’s year-old Link light-rail line last month, an increase of 3.2 percent over June figures.

An average 24,145 people per weekday rode on Sound Transit’s year-old Link light-rail line last month, an increase of 3.2 percent over June figures.

Saturday ridership was also higher than before, at more than 22,000 average trips, reflecting summer festivals and tourism.

Trains carried noticeably large numbers of passengers and luggage between downtown and the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, especially on Fridays, said transit spokesman Bruce Gray.
