Designer cologne's scent spot on for snow leopards

Does a Calvin Klein cologne have a certain something snow leopards want? Judging by the reaction Wednesday of three snow leopards at Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo to a trap camera laced with the fragrance, the answer is yes.

Does a Calvin Klein cologne have a certain something snow leopards want? Judging by the reaction Wednesday of three snow leopards at Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo to a trap camera laced with the fragrance, the answer is yes.

And that means researchers from Seattle-based Snow Leopard Trust will proceed with the cologne technique this fall in South Gobi, Mongolia, using Calvin Klein Obsession for Men to draw more of the wild cats to camera sites for a study.

The trust launched a long-term field study of the cats in 2008. Trap cameras capture their movement and habitat use, and GPS collars relay their locations.
