Marvin Oliver, an artist-in-residence for one week in the hot shop of Tacoma's Museum of Glass, has his team execute his interpretation of an American Indian gathering basket. The Seattle resident, whose heritage is Quinault and Isleta Pueblo, is one of the Northwest's leading sculptors and printmakers.

With a career that spans more than 40 years, Oliver is a professor of American Indian Studies and Art at the University of Washington and an adjunct curator at the Burke Museum. Find more about Oliver and his work at marvinoliver.com
