Cedar-ball art a throwback at University of Washington MFA Thesis Exhibition

Geraldine Ondrizek, a sculptor from Portland, visits the Henry Art Gallery's 2010 University of Washington MFA Thesis Exhibition, in the Stroum Gallery. The show runs through June 27.

At right is "Sequestered & Reconsidered," a 2010 work by Master of Fine Arts graduate Gary Carpenter, which is made of cedar bark. "It's interesting to see them work with concrete materials in a digital age," observed Ondrizek, who graduated from the UW with an MFA in the mid-1990s, and was in Seattle on business for her artwork.
