Snohomish County candidate backs initiative to legalize pot
A man running for Snohomish County prosecutor has come out in favor of Initiative 1068, which would legalize marijuana for adults.in Washington state.
A man running for Snohomish County prosecutor has come out in favor of legalizing marijuana for adults.
Jim Kenny on Tuesday endorsed Initiative 1068, a measure that would remove all state criminal penalties for the use, possession and transfer of marijuana for adults. It would still be illegal to drive under the influence of pot.
Kenny is an assistant city attorney in Seattle. He's running against Snohomish County Prosecutor Mark Roe. Both are Democrats.
Kenny says the U.S. has been waging a costly war on drugs for 40 years with little to show for it.
