A 23-year-old man arrested last week on suspicion of homicide was released from King County Jail on Wednesday afternoon while Seattle police continue their investigation.

The 23-year-old was arrested April 2, five days after the fatal shooting of Andrew Ray Johnson, 24, outside a home in the 4600 block of South Brandon Street, according to Seattle police.

Johnson was shot in the head and chest and pronounced dead at the scene just before midnight on March 28.

The 23-year-old had been held in the King County Jail on $1 million bail but was conditionally released Wednesday afternoon, said Dan Donohoe, a spokesman for King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg.

Asked whether the man claimed he had shot Johnson in self-defense, Donohoe would say only that he was released "pending further investigation" by police.
