Crash delays light rail service in South Seattle
A collision between a Sound Transit light-rail train and a car has caused delays for Friday afternoon commuters going through Seattle's Rainier Valley.

A collision between a Sound Transit light-rail train and a car caused delays for Friday afternoon commuters going through Seattle's Rainier Valley.
Service returned to normal by 5:25 p.m., a rider alert said.
Transit spokesman Bruce Gray said based on initial reports, it appeared a motorist turned left into the path of a northbound train, in the median of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South near Othello Station, at about 4:20 p.m.
There were five similar crashes last year, and one in January, none of which caused life-threatening injuries.
The 16-mile line opened last year from Westlake Center to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
Coincidentally, Sound Transit said Friday it will soon install a chain near Columbia City Station as a safety measure, to discourage people from walking across the tracks in the road median there.
