Margaret Larson returns to KING-TV as host of new daytime talk show

Former KING-TV news anchor Margaret Larson returns to Seattle Monday to host a new daytime talk show at the station.

The one-hour "New Day Northwest" will air weekdays before a studio audience. The program is designed to showcase the best of living in the Pacific Northwest, according to a news release from the television station. The show also will cover current events.

Larson is a former news anchor for "The Today Show" and a "Dateline NBC" reporter. She left the Seattle station to work full time on international causes in a partnership with Mercy Corps. More recently, she's been a communications consultant for international aid agencies and nonprofit and public-policy groups.

Larson will be joined by executive producer Tracy Green, who coproduced the Discovery Network shows the "Deadliest Catch" and "Monster Garage."

The director will be Steve Wilson, former director of KOMO-TV's "Northwest Afternoon" and KING's "Almost Live."

"New Day Northwest" premieres on KING-TV, Channel 5, at 11 a.m.
