Pedestrian struck by car in crosswalk

A 45-year-old woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries following a car-pedestrian accident early Friday in Seattle's View Ridge neighborhood.

A 45-year-old woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries following a car-pedestrian accident early Friday in Seattle's View Ridge neighborhood.

According to police and the Seattle Fire Department, a vehicle was traveling east on Northeast 45th Street when the pedestrian, who was standing on the southeast corner of the intersection of Northeast 45th Street and 36th Avenue Northeast, stepped out into the marked crosswalk and was struck.

Officers arrived and administered CPR on the pedestrian, who was later taken by Seattle Fire Department medics to Harborview, police said.

Police are investigating the accident.
