Pullman routs East Valley of Yakima in opener
Shelby Cheslek scored 13 points to lead Pullman to a 44-25 upset of fifth-ranked East Valley of Yakima on Wednesday in the Class 2A girls state tournament.

Shelby Cheslek scored 13 points to lead Pullman to a 44-25 upset of fifth-ranked East Valley of Yakima on Wednesday in the Class 2A girls state tournament.
Cheslek tallied 10 of her points in the second half as the Greyhounds (17-6) slowly pulled away. Jordan Levenseller added nine points.
The Red Devils (18-5) hurt their effort with a miserable 15 percent shooting effort (8 of 53), including hitting just 3 of 25 shots after halftime.
Yasamin Mohsenian led EV with seven points and Annie Martinez had six.
Pullman outrebounded EV 50-39. Cheslek grabbed 14 rebounds and blocked four shots.
