Olympic athletes to rally in Seattle

Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn will welcome Washington's Olympic athletes at a noon rally Thursday at Westlake Park.

Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn will welcome Washington's Olympic athletes at a noon rally Thursday at Westlake Park.

Featured Olympians will include speedskater J.R. Celski, Nordic skier Torin Koos, hockey team member Karen Thatcher, luger Christian Niccum, bobsledder Bree Schaaf and Roberto Carcelen, who represented Peru in nordic skiing.

Apolo Ohno was set to appear on the "Tonight Show" Wednesday and won't be at the rally, organizers said.

The event is sponsored by Comcast, the city of Seattle and the Downtown Seattle Association.
