Scantily clad Bonney Lake baristas play to webcams at work

A Bonney Lake bikini-barista stand has come up with a new way to make money: six live webcams inside the shop.

For less than the price of a latte, anybody in the world can see the women of Peek-A-Brew Espresso greet customers, make coffee and clean counters. A subscription costs $3.99 per month.

Brewistas.com, which launched last month, is beginning to attract attention. Fueled by a free-access promotion that expires Saturday, the site has seen more than 600 registrations, said Kendra Harrington, 26, of Enumclaw, who owns the stand along with her mother.

"It's fun to see it blossom," Harrington said. "I love my girls, and they are respectful and they play to the camera, and it's just fun."

Between 10 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday, the site received 21,000 hits, she said.

The baristas don't mind the increased attention, said Randi Damery, a 29-year-old manager and barista at the stand, which opened in April on Highway 410 East in Pierce County.

"I think it's great," Damery said. "It's really great for people out of state, so they'll be able to take a look."

Damery and Harrington are sisters. It's a family business, they said, with the idea for the Web site coming from their brother. The clothing is regulated and not inappropriate, they said. The women generally wear lingerie, but thongs and pasties aren't allowed, Harrington said.

Plans are in place to establish a Peek-A-Brew lingerie line and an online store selling cups, shirts and baseball caps, Harrington said.

The family knows about the recent case in which five baristas were charged with prostitution for their conduct at a coffee stand in Everett.

"We're not like that," Harrington said. "We want to empower women. We wanted to put it out there, that there are stands that are classy."
