A portion of the Burke-Gilman Trail, closed for five days when it was buried by an estimated 60 yards of debris spurred by heavy rain, is scheduled to reopen this afternoon.
The section of trail, which has been closed since Jan. 15, was closed from roughly Northeast 142nd Street to Northeast 155th Street in Lake Forest Park.
It is set to open by 3:30 p.m.
King County Parks crews say the slide left no lasting damage to the trail.
The Burke-Gilman Trail runs more than 18 miles from Shilshole Bay in the Seattle to the city of Bothell where it intersects the Sammamish River Trail.
The trail is managed by Seattle within the city limits south of Northeast 145th Street and by King County outside Seattle.
