CENTRALIA — A King County man has been charged with second-degree attempted child rape after a Lewis County Sheriff's Office sting in which detectives posed on the Internet as a mother with a daughter in search of sex for money.
Erik Allyn Brisbin, 46, was arrested Dec. 30 after responding to an ad on Craigslist, according to court documents.
Brisbin pleaded not guilty to the charge in Lewis County Superior Court on Thursday.
The charges stem from an investigation started by Sheriff's Office detectives on Dec. 29. Detectives created an ad in which a woman named "Gina" wrote "times are still tight and have expenses to pay. Anyone DDF [drug and disease free] who likes a hot mom and a hot younger daughter hit us up," according to court documents.
Brisbin allegedly responded to the ad, at which point detectives posing as the mother said the daughter was 13.
A female Sheriff's Office employee twice spoke with Brisbin over the phone as "Gina," according to court documents.
On Dec. 30, detectives arranged a meeting with Brisbin and the fictional mother and daughter at a hotel. When Brisbin knocked on the door of a predetermined room, he was taken into custody, according to court documents.
Brisbin is being held at the Lewis County Jail on $25,000 bail.
