Four injured Sunday in Fremont crash
Four people, including a pedestrian, were injured Sunday in a two-car crash in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood.
Four people, including a pedestrian, were injured Sunday in a two-car crash in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood.
Seattle police were searching for the driver of a red Chevrolet Nova who ran off after he was involved in the collision with a sport-utility vehicle.
Of the four people injured, a woman in her 30s suffered the most serious injury, said Seattle police spokeswoman Renee Witt. The woman, standing on the southwest corner of Fremont Avenue North and North 39th Street at the time of the 11:33 a.m. collision, was knocked unconscious by "flying debris," Witt said. She was treated at the scene, regained consciousness and was taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries, Witt said.
Three other people — a male passenger in the Nova and two people in the SUV — also were taken to Harborview with non-life-threatening injuries, Witt said.
Traffic-collision investigators Sunday afternoon were trying to determine the dynamics of the crash, Witt said.
The driver who ran from the scene was wearing a red shirt and his hair was pulled back into a ponytail. Witnesses believe he suffered a head injury, Witt said.
