Two pedestrians in Seattle were seriously injured on Saturday night after a car veered off South Columbian Way and pinned them against a parked car, the Seattle Police Department said. The two people suffered leg injuries and were taken to the hospital.

They were unloading luggage from the parked car in the driveway of a house in the 1700 block of South Columbian when a 1998 black Chevy Corvette went off the road, struck them and bounced off, according to police. The accident occurred at about 7 p.m.

The driver, a 50-year old man, has been booked into King County Jail for investigation of vehicular assault, police said.
