TACOMA, Wash. —

A radar traffic ticket camera in Tacoma snapped photos of about 2,100 speeders in its first week of official operation.

At $101 a ticket that's more than $212,000 - a pace for $11 million a year in citations.

The News Tribune of Tacoma reports the camera is installed on the Bay Street curve near the Emerald Queen Casino. The speed limit is 35 mph, although a yellow caution sign advises drivers to go 25.

Officials say speeding violators represent about 9 percent of the traffic on the street.
