3rd day of record cold at Sea-Tac

Some low temperatures Friday morning in Washington are still in single digits.

The Associated Press

SEATTLE —

Some low temperatures Friday morning in Washington are still in single digits.

Forecasters say the change that will bring temperatures closer to normal by next week also brings a chance of snow.

The temperature at Sea-Tac Airport hit a record low for the third day in a row. National Weather Service meteorologist Carl Cerniglia (ser-NIG'-lee-uh) in the Seattle office says the 22 degrees broke the record of 23 set for Dec. 11 in 1961.

Some other Friday lows: Spokane 12, Pasco 1, Vancouver 14, Olympia 11, Chehalis 14, Bellingham 28.

Snow is possible Friday in southeastern Washington and the southwest interior near Portland.

Cerniglia says there a chance of snow late Sunday in the Seattle area, but it will likely turn to rain.
