Driver injured in Spokane Valley train crash

A driver was critically injured in a collision with a train Tuesday morning in Spokane Valley.

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. —

A driver was critically injured in a collision with a train Tuesday morning in Spokane Valley.

The Spokane County sheriff's office says 44-year-old Maria L. Walsh had just dropped off a child at an elementary school when her minivan was broadsided at a crossing by a train traveling at 48 mph.

She was airlifted to Sacred Heart Medical Center.
