Home break-in ends in shootings, Everett police say
Two men shot each other after one of the men broke into the other man's house early Tuesday in South Everett, according to Everett police.
Two men shot each other after one of the men broke into the other man's house early Tuesday in South Everett, according to Everett police.
Officers went to a residence in the 600 block of 93rd Street Southwest about 1 a.m. and found a man, 23, had been shot several times.
The victim told officers that a man had broken into his house and shot him. The victim said he was able to get his gun during the attack and return fire and believed he may have shot the invader, who ran off.
A police dog found that man hiding in bushes across the street from the house. That man had been shot, too.
The two men were taken to Everett Providence Hospital, where the man who lived in the house was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
After initial treatment, the man found hiding in the bushes was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment of serious injuries, but it was unclear whether his injuries were life threatening.
Several shots were fired in the house, but the exact number has not been confirmed nor has it been confirmed how many times each person was struck. There were other people in the house at the time of the shooting, but no one else was injured.
Police say they don't know the motive for the shootings or if there is any relationship between the two men.
