Woman stabbed by stranger in North Seattle

A woman was stabbed by a man who approached her from behind in North Seattle Sunday night, Seattle police said.

A woman was stabbed by a man who approached her from behind in North Seattle Sunday night, Seattle police said.

The woman, who was listed in stable condition with nonlife-threatening injuries at an unidentified hospital, was walking in the area of Northwest 90th Street and Holman Road Northwest when she became aware of a man approaching her from behind, police said.

The woman, who didn't know the man and felt uncomfortable, was stabbed in her lower back as she turned to look at him, police said.

The assailant fled and a police dog was unable to find him, police said.

Police said they have no description of a suspect.
