Wash. man arrested in I-205 shooting, kidnapping

Sheriff's deputies say a Beaverton, Ore., woman escaped with the help of a passerby after her ex-boyfriend shot at her car along Interstate 205, kidnapped her and brought her to Washington state.

The victim, Yesenia Vehar-Fombona, showed up at the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office on Saturday afternoon to describe her ordeal. She said it began when her ex-boyfriend followed her from work along I-205, pulled alongside and shot at her car because she wouldn't get back together with him.

She pulled over and got into his car, and he drove her to a remote area near Battle Ground, Wash. She was able to take his gun and get away after he fell asleep.

A passerby picked her up on a nearby road and brought her to a gas station, where she called her ex-husband to pick her up. Police arrested a suspect, identified as Jose Guadalupe Pinedaleon of Vancouver, Wash., for investigation of attempted murder.
