Cold front brings more snow to Cascades

The National Weather Service says a cold front that moved through Western Washington Friday brought 3-to-8 inches of snow to the Olympics and Cascades.

The Associated Press

SEATTLE —

The National Weather Service says a cold front that moved through Western Washington Friday brought 3-to-8 inches of snow to the Olympics and Cascades.

Forecasters expected another 1-2 inches Friday evening, but as much as 10 inches from Stevens to Snoqualmie Pass because of the Puget Sound convergence zone.

The snow level is falling to 1,000 feet Friday night, bringing the chance of snow to the Cascade foothills.

With the fresh snow, the Summit at Snoqualmie Pass ski area said it will open Saturday with limited operations.
