The Bainbridge Island ferry Tacoma was taken out of service today while crews repaired the boat's steering system and a boat was been taken off the Bremerton route to replace it.
The 188-car Walla Walla left Bremerton at 6:20 a.m. for Seattle today, and then moved to the Seattle — Bainbridge route. That left Bremerton with just one ferry.
Ferry officials said the Sealth has successfully completed its annual inspection and will be used to restore two-boat service to the Seattle/Bremerton route beginning with the 4:20 p.m. sailing from Seattle. The Sealth will continue serving the route — along with the Kaleetan — through tonight and beginning with the 4:50 a.m. sailing from Bremerton Friday morning..
