TRI-CITIES, Wash. —

A 33-year-old former Marine from Kennewick plans to run next year against Congressman Doc Hastings in the district that includes Tri-Cities and Yakima.

Jay Clough (kluff) is a Central Washington University graduate who works for Washington Closure Hanford. He has never run before for office.

And, Connell farmer and former Washington Redskin football player Clint Didier (DID'-ee-er) says he's exploring a run against Sen. Patty Murray. He told KONA he will need $300,000 by the end of December to enter the race.

He says the Republican party needs to have a sense of urgency to make a successful bid for the Senate seat.
