The Mount Baker ski area will open Thursday, the first of the state's ski areas to open this year.
The area received more than 45 inches of new snow in 80 hours, bringing the lower base total to 40 inches.
Last week's storm brought 100 mph winds to the resort, but by Friday the winds were replaced by unusually heavy snowfall, which continued through Saturday morning, according to the resort.
Mount Baker will be in normal midweek operation Thursday and Friday out of the White Salmon Base Area from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with chairs 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 operating. The area will be in full operation with all chairlifts running this weekend.
