Weekend tornado rips through Lincoln City
The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado tore through a coastal area around Lincoln City, Ore., over the weekend with 85 mph winds.

The tornado's path was 150 yards long by 80 yards wide. No injuries were reported, but 11 homes, three cars and three decks were damaged.
Resident Brenda Ruble lives on a stretch of coastline in Lincoln City and said it took a moment for her and her husband to realize that a tornado was hitting.
"It kept getting bigger and bigger, and there was a spin on it," said Ruble. "All of a sudden we looked at each other and go, 'That's a tornado!' "
Jim Jenneke said he was watching a Portland Trail Blazers game when he heard a bang. Winds ripped the deck off his house, blew down trees and damaged a power transformer.
