Seattle disaster-plan meeting Saturday
The Seattle Office of Emergency Management will conduct a community meeting at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Capitol Hill branch library to help residents prepare for potential emergencies.
The Seattle Office of Emergency Management will conduct a community meeting at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Capitol Hill branch library to help residents prepare for potential emergencies.
The library branch is at 425 Harvard Ave E.
The so-called SNAP (Seattle Neighborhoods Actively Prepare) program aims to provide information about what residents can do now to prepare for weather-caused disruptions in power, transportation and other aspects of their lives.
Emergency-management personnel will discuss how to assemble a disaster plan, build a supply kit and establish out-of-town contacts.
The same information will be presented at 10:30 a.m., Nov. 14, at the Lake City Branch Library, 12501 28th Ave N.E. For more information, call 206-233-5076 or e-mail SNAP@seattle.gov.
