The citizen committee that makes recommendations to the Legislature and governor on higher education policy is looking for a new executive director.

The Associated Press

OLYMPIA, Wash. —

The citizen committee that makes recommendations to the Legislature and governor on higher education policy is looking for a new executive director.

Ann Daley has announced she will retire from the Higher Education Coordinating Board at the end of the 2010 legislative session.

The board reviews budget requests from the state's public colleges and universities and recommends budget priorities to the governor and Legislature. It approves new degree programs and runs Washington's guaranteed tuition savings program. The agency has a staff of about 100 people and a budget of $582 million for the current biennium.
