Mayors races in Tacoma, Vancouver, Bremerton
Mayors for Tacoma, Bremerton and Vancouver were on the Tuesday ballot.
The Associated Press
Mayors for Tacoma, Bremerton and Vancouver were on the Tuesday ballot.
The race for Tacoma mayor is still tight. The News Tribune of Tacoma reports City Councilwoman Marilyn Strickland has only a 178-vote lead over architect Jim Merritt.
The Bremerton mayor's race is even closer. The Kitsap Sun reports former county commissioner Patty Lent has a 41-vote lead over City Councilman Will Maupin.
It appears that Vancouver City Councilman Tim Leavitt will unseat Mayor Royce Pollard. The Vancouver Columbian reports Leavitt has a 54-46 percent lead. And Sean Guard defeated Stacee Sellers for Washougal mayor.
In other races, Lake Stevens approved an annexation of 10,000 people, and Pierce County voted to eliminate a Superior Court judge.
