Lawsuit disputes Lewis County coroner's ruling

A civil trial is under way in Lewis County Superior Court in Chehalis challenging the coroner's ruling that a woman's death in 1998 was suicide.
Ronda Reynolds was a former state trooper. She was found shot in the head by her husband at their home in Toledo.
Her mother Barbara Thompson filed the lawsuit because she believes her daughter's death was a homicide. She wants the jury to overrule the coroner.
The jury heard opening arguments Monday.
KOMO-TV reports Thompson has unanswered questions about her daughter's death. Reynolds had packed her bags and was preparing to fly to Spokane before she died.
