Army ID's 8th Fort Lewis soldier killed in one day
The Defense Department identified the eighth Fort Lewis soldier who was killed in one day last week in Afghanistan.

The Defense Department identified the eighth Fort Lewis soldier who was killed in one day last week in Afghanistan.
The department says 20-year-old Pfc. Brian R. Bates of Gretna, La., was killed last Tuesday when his vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb.
He was a member of the 5th Stryker brigade as were the seven other Fort Lewis soldiers killed the same day in a separate attack. Their names were released earlier.
