Police searching for suspect in officer's shooting

Seattle police were searching for a suspect who shot an officer shortly after 10 p.m. tonight near 29th Avenue and Yesler Way.

Details of the shooting were not available, however dispatch traffic indicated that at least one person was dead and that police were searching for a vehicle with gunshot damage.

A supervisor at police dispatch said he did not know the condition of the officer. Dozens of officers were fanning out from the scene looking for the suspect vehicle, which was described as a white or grey Toyota.
