BOTHELL, Wash. —

The Washington State Patrol says a trooper suffered neck and back pain when his patrol car was rear-ended by a car on I-405 in Bothell.

Trooper Joshua Jackson, a 34-year-old from Lake Stevens, had activated his lights at the scene of an earlier accident when he was hit Wednesday night by the car driven by a 21-year-old Lynnwood woman. She was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

The patrol says speed and rain may have been factors in the crash.
