Another disembodied foot has been found inside a running shoe on a beach in Richmond, B.C., the seventh foot found along the coast, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police reported Wednesday.
Another disembodied foot has been found inside a running shoe on a beach in Richmond, B.C. the seventh foot found along the coast, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police reported Wednesday.
Two men walking on the beach found the foot in a size 8 ½ running shoe. The Richmond RCMP, Forensic Identification Section and General Investigation Section seized the shoe and its contents, the RCMP said.
The RCMP and British Columbia Coroners Service are investigating the remains, found on a beach at No. 6 Road and Triangle Road.
The Coroners Service confirmed the remains were human through a forensic autopsy and will conduct more forensic tests.
Forensic pathologists and anthropologists' exams will help determine physical characteristics, which, combined with DNA analysis, will help the police and coroners service build a profile to identify the person.
The previously found feet have separated from the body through a natural process, the RCMP said.
The first foot discovered was associated with a deceased male. Two female feet found in Richmond in December 2008 belonged to the same woman. And two male feet found on Valdez Island and Westham in July 2008 belonged to the same man.
A male right foot found on Gabriola Island in August 2007 is unidentified.
