A 22-year-old woman was critically injured when she was struck by a hit-and-run driver, and then possibly by other cars, as she crossed Benson Road in Kent just after 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Narmada Timsina was crossing the five-lane highway, near her apartment complex in the 22400 block of Highway 515, when she was struck by a fast-moving vehicle, said Trooper Dan McDonald of the State Patrol.
"It's a pretty dangerous stretch of roadway," McDonald said.
Authorities found Timsina lying in the northbound lane, her purse 200 feet beyond her. She suffered severe injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The driver later turned himself in. Charges have not been filed pending investigation.
"Looking at the evidence, and the injuries to the subject, we have reason to believe there may be one or more vehicles that ran over her after the initial impact," McDonald said.
Any witnesses who have knowledge of the incident or who may have struck something near the site are being asked to call Detective Stacy Moate with the State Patrol at 425-401-7746.
