The deaths of a man and a woman found in a hot tub Sunday night near Federal Way appear to be accidental, according to the King County Sheriff's Office.
A woman who was unable to get in touch with one of the dead people stopped by the man's house in the 34900 block of 26th Avenue South and discovered the bodies around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, said sheriff's spokesman Sgt. John Urquhart.
Investigators believe the man, in his early 50s, and the woman, in her early 40s, died at least 24 hours before they were found.
"We are looking into the wiring of the hot tub," Urquhart said. "There were no signs of trauma to the bodies, so it's most likely accidental."
Investigators with the King County Medical Examiner's Office are still working to positively identify the couple, so their names have not yet been released.
