CASHMERE, Wash. —

Evacuation advisories are in effect for 38 homes near a wildfire burning in the Tripp Canyon, near Cashmere. The fire that is actively burning in brush and timber began Sunday morning when a debris-pile burn got out of control.

As of Sunday evening, about 50 firefighters were working the work. Nearly a hundred more are expected this morning and three helicopters will be dropping water on the fire.

Meanwhile, firefighters also are battling a 30-acre brush fire in the Yacolt Burn State Forest near Washougal. The wildfire is burning in steep, woody terrain at the Clark-Skamania border.

The fire is north of Jackson Pass and northeast of the Jones Creek Campground.
