US House honors UW softball champions

The U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed a resolution introduced by Jim McDermott honoring the University of Washington softball team for winning the NCAA Women's College World Series.

WASHINGTON —

The U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed a resolution introduced by Jim McDermott honoring the University of Washington softball team for winning the NCAA Women's College World Series.

In a speech Thursday the Seattle congressman said the players never stopped striving to be the best. He also said they enjoyed the benefits of the 1972 Title IX legislation to promote women athletics.
