About 2,500 people participated in the Lifelong AIDS Alliance's 23rd annual Seattle AIDS Walk on Saturday.

The 5K walk through Capitol Hill raised $400,000 as of Saturday, less than its goal of $750,000, but executive director David Richart said the walk often brings in $100,000 to $200,000 in the months after the event.

In King County, more than 6,000 people live with HIV/AIDS. For the first time in the alliance's 26 years, its free meal- and grocery-delivery service has a waiting list of more than 200 people.
